The primary objective was to redesign and redevelop the user interface of the Shardeum Validator, significantly enhancing the overall user experience.

  • Shardeum was committed to democratising the process of running a Validator, aiming to streamline operations to such an extent that initiating a node becomes a simple task, achievable with just a few clicks.

  • This initiative was designed to lower barriers to entry, enabling a broader spectrum of individuals to participate in securing the Shardeum network.

Validator GUI

Shardeum required redesigning and rebuilding it's Validator GUI to improve mobile user experience, user-friendliness, brand consistency, and data visualisation.

  • Mobile User Experience Enhancement: The web app was slated for an upgrade to ensure full responsiveness across all devices, enhancing accessibility beyond desktop usage.

  • Enhancing User-Friendliness: The Validator GUI was set for a redesign to prioritise user flow and incorporate comprehensive UX research and improvements, enriching the overall user interaction.

  • Brand Alignment: Following Shardeum's brand refresh, the Validator GUI would be updated to reflect the new branding, ensuring consistency across all digital platforms.

  • Advanced Data Visualisation: The backend GUI (Express) is designed to effectively retrieve and display data from the CLI, with a current focus on expanding beyond performance metrics to include a wider array of accurate, real-time data.

Add Stake: To enable validators to increase their stake in the network, which is crucial for participating in network consensus and earning rewards.

Node Status Overview: To provide real-time information on the operational status of the validator node.

Stake overview: To give validators a comprehensive view of their staked assets and related activities.

Network Size overview: To provide validators with insights into the overall size and health of the Shardeum network.

Redeem Rewards: To allow validators to claim their earned rewards from staking activities.

Manage Logs: To enable validators to access, review, and manage system and application logs for better diagnostics and troubleshooting.

Configure Settings: To allow validators to customize and manage their node and staking configurations through a dedicated settings interface.
